Putting together a good musical programme is rather like having a great meal - it needs to be varied and balanced, have the best possible ingredients and be both indulgent and surprising. This is something that I've endeavoured to achieve with the menu of music on offer from the Swindon Recital Series!
The best ingredients come from great artists - all chosen for their ability to communicate with an audience - be they internationally renowned players or at the outset of a promising career. There is no doubt that they are all of the best possible calibre.
Classical music is all around us, so it's not necessary to have any previous experience of attending concerts (or any specialist knowledge) to enjoy this great music. However, if you would like to learn a little more about the music to be performed, please come to our pre-concert talks, which may help to illuminate the composers' lives and ideas as well as explore the instruments and techniques used.
Then all you have to do is sit back, relax, and completely indulge yourself in the feast of music!

More CELLO
Caroline Dale was a memorable string winner in one of the first BBC Young Musician of the Year competitions. Her individual and sonorous playing has led to a varied career, including principal cello for ECO, film music ('Jackie', 'Atonement' etc.) and pop music (Eric Clapton, David Gray etc.). This dramatic programme includes the grand sonata by Cesar Franck and the lyrical sonata by Frank Bridge.

More MOZART
The Music Of Renown Ensemble presents some iconic works by the world's most popular classical composer. Mozart has a unique place in the hearts of audiences and musicians alike, and is shown at his tuneful and expressive best in this specially chosen programme. His Eine Kleine Nachtmusik is instantly recognisable and is contrasted by an elegant piano concerto. The clarinet quintet is in a class of its own with its ethereal and moving writing. A finale to our season that's not to be missed!
